he most famous Jewish district in Paris, the Marais has been home to Jews since the 13th century. Despite its strong tourist appeal, the district remains an important center of Jewish life in Paris. You'll discover the history of the Jews in Paris, bookshops, schools, food shops and typical restaurants where Jews gather to enjoy traditional Ashkenazi and Sephardic dishes, houses housing private synagogues, the Pletzl (small square in Yiddish) where Jewish holidays (such as Sukkoth, Hanukkah, Purim) follow one another with their rituals and ancestral traditions. During the tour, it will be possible to enter one of the private synagogues, subject to authorization at the time.
It's a visit with a very characteristic atmosphere and a strong community identity.
