How I landed in ACP

I saw a Facebook post from the ACP and I said to myself that it could be really nice to reconnect with the Canadian world, with which I had lost contact a little since moving to France in 2012.

What I do for a living

I am an independent photographer, specializing in events and portraits for companies and also individuals for family events, births, family sessions, and self-confidence portraits.

The trip that made the biggest impression on me ?

Difficult to choose! Maybe my trip to Ecuador when I was 22. I volunteered for two months in an education association in Quito to raise awareness among disadvantaged young people. I spent my time talking with young people about their lives and their desires for the future. I learned how important it is to learn to be grateful for the positive things in our lives and to always keep smiling, living the present moment to the fullest despite the difficulties.

My favourite place in France or Canada

In France, the Noirmoutier peninsula, for me a haven of peace with sea air, bike rides, the sea and the famous artisanal salt.

In Canada, the city of Halifax where I did my Master's degree and more generally Nova Scotia, with its magnificent landscapes, musical culture and adorable people.

My passions and / or my hidden talent ?

I am passionate about dance and in particular cabaret dance, danced in heels and in sensuality. I have also been a great swimmer since childhood and love doing open water swims of several kilometers.

What I learned in life

I experienced a lot of health problems in my childhood, which allowed me to learn to appreciate what we have in front of us, to develop the qualities we have and to accept our own imperfections and those of others. I tell myself that there is (almost) always a solution to our problems and I focus on that. I also learned that setting myself challenges to surpass myself makes me happy, both for the journey and the result.

My favourite bar-restaurant in France and Canada ?

In France, or rather in Paris, there are too many places to choose, but I really like the subdued and friendly atmosphere, as well as the cocktails and tapas at the bar Le 153 (153 rue Saint Martin, Paris 75003)

In Canada, I don't know many restaurants anymore, but I recently went to L'Grox Luxe in Montreal and I really liked the spirit as well as the Ribs dish that they offer.

My favourite ACP activity?

I am a fairly recent member of the ACP, but I particularly like the friendly events where we can talk with people, and also cultural events linked to Canada.
